Today I want to talk about my unintentional, yet racist behaviour. I want to have a conversation with you about it in the hopes that something I share about myself my inspire you or help you deal with the current conversation.
And the current conversation is around systemic racism. It was sparked by the murder of a black man at the hands of people in power. And that’s not ok.
And it’s also raised other issues that are not ok. Like the way white people, including myself, have continuously turned a blind eye to what’s happening around us.
In today’s episode, I want to be open and vulnerable about what I’ve learned about my own racist behaviour. I’ll talk about how I opened my eyes to it, how I will continue to learn, and what I’ve started doing about it.
This is not an episode about career. It’s more of an episode about relationships. The relationship we have with ourselves, and with our fellow human beings.
I want to be part of a solution. And the way I can do that is sharing what I’ve learned about myself so far.
I invite you to share your ideas and comments in the comments section below. I want to know what you think and how we can all be part of the solution. Let’s continue the conversation.
