A situation that I’m presented with all time is “I think I want to change careers”.
Usually, people struggle back and forth for a while. And if that’s you, then you absolutely need to listen to this episode.
I mean, it’s a good question.
How DO you know if it’s time to change careers? How do you know it’s not just a phase or a quick or easy way out of a bad situation?
‘Cos let’s be honest … there’s nothing quick or easy about changing careers. So you’d better be sure.
Here’s what I DON’T recommend you do.
I don’t recommend you jump at the first neat idea.
I don’t recommend quitting and figuring it out later.
And I don’t recommend making any sudden moves if you’re feeling fed-up, exhausted and angry.
I’m not saying you can’t figure it out, but you’re making your path to success much more difficult than it needs to be.
Instead, I recommend doing the work in this episode to help you make an informed and pragmatic decision.
WARNING… what I’m going to suggest you do isn’t sexy or a quick fix.
This work is going to take some effort from you. But I’m telling you if you put this effort in upfront, you’ll have a much easier time in the back end.
And by the way – if you’re looking for a sexy quick fix to change careers, then that’s definitely a sign that you want a change for the wrong reasons.
