Because clearly the way I do things and think about things is the right way!
The world would be such a better place if everyone would just let me control them.
Sadly, things don’t work that way.
We can’t control what other people do.
It never works out.
Yet, we all continue to spend an inordinate amount of time and energy trying to control other people’s bad decisions. And then when it doesn’t work, we all get mad and frustrated.
The first thing to understand is the decision itself is not good or bad. It’s your opinion on the decisions of others that make them good or bad decisions.
And in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, we all have a lot of opinions on how people should be living their lives. As if it wasn’t uncomfortable enough to deal with all these new COVID-19 circumstances, we’ve chosen to add additional anger and frustration to our plates.
There are people out there not heeding the warnings from our officials. They are acting as if they are above the virus. They are putting everyone’s lives at risk whether they choose to believe that or not.
So what do you do about it?
Well yelling, screaming and getting angry is only going to elevate your stress levels, and do very little to change anyone’s behaviour.
That type of response to bad decisions rarely worked prior to the Coronavirus, and it won’t work now.
In this week’s episode, I’m going to offer you three concepts to help you handle other people’s bad decisions.
And these concepts not only apply to the perceived life-threatening behaviours of people on the street. But also to your everyday life dealing with the bad decisions people make at work all the time.
